Assault at Humboldt State University; Loaded Gun Magazine Left at the Scene

Pepperwood Hall is circled in red.

At approximately 4:30 p.m. an assault occurred in Pepperwood Hall on the Humboldt State University Campus. According to information heard over the scanner, there was a broken window on the second floor and a gun magazine with possible .223 ballistic tipped ammunition was found at the scene.

The University Police are investigating the assault. According to a report on the HSU webpage for emergencies, no one was injured and the suspect is at large after fleeing in a white Honda.

According to a press release, “Police believe there is NO continuing threat on campus. However, out of an abundance of caution, they are conducting additional patrols this evening, with a focus on the residence halls…Anyone with information is asked to call University Police at 826-5555.”

We were briefly able to talk to Chief Donn Peterson. He would not confirm any details stating this was an active investigation. However, he said, “We’ve got a lot of personnel dedicated to this now. We will stay active as long as it takes.”

Yes there is.

“Ballistic Tip” is a registered trademark of Nosler, but numerous other companies produce similar projectiles, including Hornady. Plastic tipped is the non-trademarked name, similar to facial tissues vs kleenex.

Why don’t you put all of your gun nut “expertise” into a personal letter addressed to the disgraced convicted felon Oliver North of your beloved NRA (AKA National Russian Association)? 🇷🇺 💵 Because no one here cares about your insanely idiotic justifications for mass shootings, etc.

The violence in these cities- yes, ALL of them- is most definitely our fault. But we already know your revisionist history… it was Obama’s fault that we went into Iraq! The Liberals start the wars! Reagan, Bush, and Chump are too peaceful!

LOL!! 😆🤣. Yeah, the problem for Orange Hitler 🍊 and his almost non-existent re-election chances are the following:

#1) By 2019, Donald Trump will no longer be president, since the GOP will Gingrich him after November’s devastating defeats for the GOP🐘💩 Bye Trump! 🍊
#2) If not, the New Democratic majority in the House of Representatives will impeach Trump by March 2019, after which there will be a REAL impeachment trial in the US Senate (unlike the 3-day abbreviated let’s get this incredibly unpopular Clinton impeachment by the Republicans B.S over ASAP).
#3) Regardless of which party holds a slim majority in the Senate next year, public pressure will hold Senators feet-to-the-fire 🔥 ensuring that the evidence gathered by the special counsel’s investigation will finally be heard in full, in full view of the American public resulting in a sufficient number of scared-for-their-jobs Republican Senators voting for the removal of Trump from the presidency.

.223 is a rifle not a hand weapon. Could be discharged from a M-16 or M-15. For deer hunting it would be considered a “light weapon” compared to a 308 or 30-06. Neither of the latter are assault weapons. Although there are rifles at the .223 caliber that are bolt action.

Um. 308 in AR -10 is an “assault “ rifle and 30-06 ( m1 garand) has killed millions of soldiers in action. Is that not from an “assault “ gun? Come on people. I have lots of ARs but there for defense, so they are not assault weapons.

Like criminals follow the law? We have enough laws that people don’t follow and will never follow (that is why they are ‘outlaws’/criminals) so what is making more laws for law following people going to accomplish? It is illogical to keep passing laws that have no affect! You can take guns away from law abiding citizens and guess what? Criminals will still have guns! And what they can’t get, they can make or find a way around it. Its like saying we need to get rid of cars so there are no drunk drivers or no deaths from people driving drugged out of their minds or texting-while-driving deaths. There is already laws saying you can’t do any of those things but people still do.

If someone wants to kill themself they will find a way,gun or not. How about educating teens in the dangers of firearms and the proper respect they deserve? Wait. When good guys outnumber bad guys 9-1 and the 1-9 team up to outlaw the 9-1, it might be a good time to take a step back, clear the mind, and take a good looksee at what’s really going on.

Those who demand for the good guys to become defenseless, are literally promoting the mass killings of millions of people per year.
HIDDEN DATA: “Since the early 1990s, Kleck has maintained that there is a minimum of 760,000 DGUs annually. That is his low estimate; Kleck and research partner Marc Gertz have contended the actual number is closer to 2.5 million.” – http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2018/04/21/unpublished-cdc-study-confirms-2-million-annual-defensive-gun-uses/
WHY was the data hidden is the big question. Once you figure that out, our children will be saved.

Instead of voting against automobiles (really, there’s a ballot initiative on that?), vote against Virginia Bass & Ryan Sundberg in June.

# Where In The World Is Ryan Sundberg?

I’m still waiting to find out who or what was actually assaulted. Was anyone harmed or was it just a broken window and some lightweight ammo?
If the second, this whole this is blown out of proportion into something that looks like scare mongering. The only reason to play that particular game is to gain control and dominate a situation.
IS that that the police are doing?
Are we (college kids, more likely) being trained to knee jerk with fear at the mere sight of an unattended bullet?
Tell me shots were fired or people were damaged – or an active attempt was made to do so – before you pull out the word assault.

“…Tell me shots were fired or people were damaged…”

No thanks. I’d rather not.

Agreed, but still, don’t use a hot word without reason. At this point “school” and “ammo” is enough to make a LOT of people react. Add a word that indicates violence (and there wasn’t any as far as I can tell) and you are shouting “FIRE” in a crowded theater. And everyone jumping up and assuming the worst – and blaming someone for it.

Yeah, no way. Not even close to falsely yelling fire in a crowded theater, which can get you arrested for good reason, because people could be trampled as a result.

Are you saying the reporter on this story should be arrested, since it’s apparently equivalent to falsely yelling “Fire!”, in your opinion? I know Trump acolytes wish all reporters who are even mildly critical could be arrested, but this isn’t Russia, snowflakes. 🇷🇺❄️

The reporter shoudn’t be arrested for it – but SHOULD get a stern lecture (along with everyone else who called it assault without offering victims) about mis-using the language.
This is fear mongering, calling an assault when there is no victim – except, perhaps, the window.
And yes – it is like yelling fire in a theater – LOOK at the comments.

Exactly. Just because the HSU Police Dept. didn’t provide all of the dirty details of the reported assault, doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. Let the DA determine whether or not assault charges should be filed. It’s surprising that so many of you were apparently upset by this reporting. Get a grip…

Here’s some reporting you should be upset by: How about Disney/ABC News reporting earlier today about “deadly protests” & “deadly clashes” when reporting on the slaughter of 50 Palestinian protestors + 2700 wounded Palestinian protestors? Not to mention using passive language describing the protestors’ homicides, like saying “they died”, etc, (as opposed to the truth – they were KILLED). I guess reporting on a major international incident/tragedy/war crime committed by the Israeli military today might have distracted from Disney/ABC’s wall-to-wall coverage of the Brits latest royal wedding, and we all know how pro-monarchy the Disney Corporation has always been. LAME! 🖕🏿

It’s not like Disney News would ever allow a REAL news story like this to get in the way of their usual pro-monarchy B.S. 💍 🇬🇧

Everyone knows Wayne LaPierre was a disgrace (except for Ryan Sundberg and Virginia Bass), but OLIVER NORTH??!! SERIOUSLY?!

Well, on 2nd thought, the choice of a convicted felon gunrunner terrorist-supporting cocaine kingpin war criminal like Oliver North to run the NRA makes perfect sense after all! Good luck with that, gun nuts, because you’re going to need it!
