Supervisor Sundberg Re-Appointed to Environmental Protection Agency’s Advisory Committee
This is a press release from the County of Humboldt:
On May 2, 5th District Supervisor and Chair of the Board Ryan Sundberg was reappointed to serve a second term on the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Local Government Advisory Committee. The committee was chartered in 1992 to advise the EPA Administrator “from the field” on a broad range of environmental issues impacting local governments.
Ultimately, the Local Government Advisory Committee’s (LGAC) goal is provide United States citizens with more efficient and effective environmental protection at the local, state and federal levels.
“It is an honor to give direct input to the federal government to protect our environment through the lens of a rural county,” Sundberg said. “Also there are too few Native American voices in our government, and I am happy I can interject that experience in to their processes.”
Members of the LGAC are appointed for 1- to 2-year terms. The committee meets several times per year to develop reports and recommendations to address specific policy issues, and official travel and related expenses are fully reimbursed. Sundberg was nominated for his post by the Rural Community Assistance Corporation and first appointed in 2016 by the Obama Administration. He is being re-appointed by the Trump Administration.

Evidently, they thought that he was the man for the job, and I’m glad that both administrations appreciate his hard work.

Sundberg cut recommended stream setbacks of 200 ft. in half for developers. Aren’t our creeks and streams drying up?
