[UPDATE 3:57 p.m.] Vegetation Fire Reportedly Visible From Hwy 36 Possibly Caused by Lightning

At approximately 3:23 p.m., Emergency Dispatch sent fire crews and equipment scrambling to the report of a lightning strike near Larabee Buttes south of Bridgeville. Reportedly two different parties witnessed a lightning strike followed by a column of white smoke.

A large wildland response team including a helicopter is being sent to the area. You can hear the dispatch below.

UPDATE 3:57 p.m.: This was not as reported and the team was canceled.

Thank you Kym, for the update, saw all Calfire vehicles headed out couple mins after the lightning strike update, was worried, thanks for every update!
