Structure Destroyed by Fire in Whale Gulch Last Night

Structure FireAbout 8:30 last night, firefighters in the Whale Gulch area were toned out to respond to a home on fire near the Whale Gulch School. According to Nancy Peregrine, spokesperson for Whale Gulch Fire. “It was so ablaze there was no stopping it.”

She said firefighters worked hard though to control the spread to the wildland.  “There were very large firs right next to the house and nothing caught thanks to the efforts of the firefighters,” she explained.

“The owner’s brother was in the house when it was all happening,” Peregrine said. “He was watching tv and he heard glass breaking.” He was able to flee the home.

“The owner was away,” Peregrine said. At this point, she explained, “We don’t know anything about the causes of the fire.”
