[UPDATE 10:24 a.m.] Unresponsive Driver After Traffic Collision on Hwy 36

Traffic Collision Car AccidentAt approximately 8:08 a.m., Emergency Dispatch received a report of a sedan into the embankment on Hwy 36 at approximately mile marker 12.1.

The dispatcher sent Carlotta and Bridgeville Volunteer Fire Departments, an ambulance, and a tow truck to the scene.

Please drive carefully in the area as emergency vehicles are responding.

Please remember that information gathered from initial reports is subject to revision as more facts become available.

UPDATE 8:36 a.m.: The vehicle is a two-door Honda Civic with major front-end end damage.

UPDATE 10:24 a.m.: The roadways is clear and the person received minor injuries.

Scanner said driver was unresponsive. I’m thankful the person was ok. I was worried all morning.

The driver of the vehicle is a friend of mine. Stopped by the Fortuna hospital earlier today. She was doing well and was being released to go home.

Ah yes the notorious “Jumping Redwoods of Hwy 36”, they ARE treacherous indeed ya never know when one is going to “Jump” into the middle of the road in front of your vehicle!!! On a serious note, I’m glad the driver wasn’t injured badly!!!
