A hoax from Ukraine briefly sent Fortuna Schools into lockdown. According to a press release by the Fortuna Police Department,

Today at approximately, 11:30 am, the Fortuna Police Department was contacted by the Fortuna Elementary School District Superintendent who had received an email threatening harm to students in the district.

The Fortuna Police Department worked immediately with the school district to keep our students safe.

The department then worked with our partners from the Federal Bureau of Investigation to determine the source of the email. We have determined that the email was a hoax and originated in Ukraine. This email went to schools throughout the county.

The lockdown is no longer in effect.

Probably the Russians trying to damage our relationship with Ukraine and cause America problems. Better abate some more Bulgarian properties!

False!

“As a U.S. senator, Barack Obama won $48 million in federal funding to help Ukraine destroy thousands of tons of guns and ammunition”

I can’t name 2 towns in all of Ukraine.

But it seems that most of Ukraine could name every city in Humboldt, due to the pot.

I wonder if a fair amount of similar hoaxs are sent from Ukraine to other parts of the US – or if it was somehow related to a grow scene disagreement.

wouldnt surprise me at all if email wasnt sent from someone in humboldt .
since when do you need to live in a certain place to get their email ?? there is no law saying you need to live in ukraine to use ukraine email , or live in england to use british email address or even live in the U.S. to use our hotmail , yahoo , AOL or outlook .

It’s called forensics. They use the logs from the routers at your ISP, and logs from the routers that sent it into the country. All traffic is recorded, every packet. It is not based on your email address.

At this point we better take all threats as real and act accordingly. Prepare for the worst and pray for the best. Glad my son only has another year or so in the public school system.. Alot to worry about.
