This ‘Sweet Gentle’ Lady is Looking for a Forever Home
A concerned reader emailed us about this dog that’s listed on Petharbor.com. If you know someone who can help get her into a forever home, please pass this along to them.
I am a spayed female, brown and white Boxer and Pit Bull Terrier. The shelter thinks I am about 3 years old. I have been at the shelter since Mar 06, 2018.
Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
ANNIE
Annie is shy and wary of people but is gaining confidence, especially if one moves slowly around her. She doesn’t yet like to be touched but is easy to leash up. She walks very nicely and shows lots of interest in other dogs. She has fun running around in the playpen! She has very soulful eyes, a beautiful face, and a sweet gentle personality that will blossom with trust and stability in her life.

A pit pull that doesnlt like to be touched and needs to have people moving slowly around her? Is this likely to be a dog for just anyone?
Wow first thing first she is a boxer pitbull terrier.Im sure some human has treated her badly to make her feel the way she does. A lot of LOVE and TLC GOES A LONG WAY. This fur baby will make someones home extremely happy..
Agreed. My rescue pit cross was leery st first and scared of TLC. A year later and a little love and she is as cuddly and loving as the other dogs.
No this dog is not for everyone!! She will require love, attention, patience, and prob close supervision most of the time-its worth it though if u r honestly a true dog lover!! Had a formerly abused pit and loved her unconditionally…had to put her down due to poisoning by previous idiot owners!!
My husband and I can take her. We have a pitbull husky mix who has a very similar personality, and he would love a Sister! I also work with dogs and am well aversed in Pitbull training. There is nothing wrong with her, she just needs a good home. Please contact as soon as possible, as we are moving.

U r an angel
This dog should be put down. The last thing society needs is another pit mix. These aggressive dogs are not worth the risk. There are a lot of good-gentle breeds out there. Pit Bulls should be outlawed. Please adopt people friendly dogs only.
You don’t know what you are talking about.Pit bulls are just like any other dog it’s the people that train the dog to be aggressive or the dog was abused. Those are the people who should not have dogs
Wow someone wrote out of pure ignorance. There are plenty of good well behaved loyal “pitbulls” out in society and shelters. Plenty of formerly abused dogs in the shelter and if they get the chance and make it out they show their gratitude in so many ways. My pitbull/boxer mix brings a smile and a laugh to my day everyday.
Anyone who has those negative comments should meet this dog…she has the eyes of an abused little child and is still so young….and is nothing but sweet and gentle. It is beautiful to see her start to relax and trust again, which she is.
A pitbull like that almost killed my mini dachshund at the dog park. Unprovoked attach from a roving pit
