This ‘Very Well-Behaved’ Guy is Looking for a Forever Home

A concerned reader emailed us about this dog that’s listed on Petharbor.com. If you know someone who can help get him into a forever home, please pass this along to them.

I am a neutered male, brown brindle and white Pit Bull Terrier mix. The shelter thinks I am about 4 years old. I have been at the shelter since Feb 14, 2018.

Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:

KLAUS

Though Klaus looks quite intimidating in his kennel when he barks and shows his teeth, he’s really a sweetie! Easy to leash up and take outside of his kennel, and he is quite good on the leash, only pulling a little bit when he is intent on going someplace in particular. Usually he leaves the leash slack. He is a handsome brindle with nice musculature. He does ‘sit’ and ‘shake’ just beautifully, and takes treats very gently from your hand. He shows some playfulness in the playpen, but is very well-behaved! He’d be an excellent watchdog for someone who wants a formidable-looking dog who’s really a peach.

He is a killer. Anyone who takes him home opens up the possibility that he attacks. Just like in New york last week. Look in up. The owner was arrested. Pit Bulls Kill. Plain and simple. This breed should not be allowed out. Humboldt county animal control is playing with fire. This beast should be put down. There are lots of breeds that deserve a second chance. Not pit bulls

The same can be said of white people. Ask any Native American.

There is only one common group ID thread in killing and that it is overwhelmingly done by males. Otherwise Native Americans were killing other groups of Native Americans in mass attacks long before the European invasion, in very large, deliberate murder often in very horrible ways, for which there is only archelogical evidence as Native Americans had little in the way of written records. Then, when Europeans arrived, there were many such attacks on them too and visa versa. In the end the sheer number of invaders overwhelmed the Native American’s ability to do that most favored of human activities- killing the other guy. But it was not from lack of trying on the Native American’s part.

It’s a sad history but it is the history of the human race, not confined in any way to one group. Innocence never survived long anywhere. We are all the offspring of warriors.
