Chris Brannan, a Southern Humboldt resident said he saw “a cloud of dust and skid marks about a mile north of Phillipsville….The dust was so fresh that I thought iI had better stop.” He turned his vehicle around.

“I was actually surprised that there was a car…over the bank but not in the river…and the occupants were screaming for help,” Brannan said. He called 911.

“By luck a CHP was in the area…and was right there quick, Brannan said. “[H]e called an ambulance.”

There were two occupants, Brannan said. “[O]ne seemed injured but both got back up to the road with the CHP assistance.”

That is a very bad area for crashes, I think we all know of a few folks who have gone over the edge there, and not all were as lucky as these guys.
