Beautiful Shepard. I think seized drug money should go towards our animal shelters. Make them ‘No Kill’ shelters like many other places are doing.
this is a beautiful dog. German Shepherds are great! I speak from experience. Ours is now three. Born on 9/11. We call him our homestead security system. He is intelligent, loyal and loving. The dog pictured has the same kind, steady look of ours. I’d say whoever brings him home will be very very glad.
I agree with Wants To Know. If you put good energy into helping a GSD get a good start, with some obedience training … they will do the rest as they grow into all their amazing breed qualities. I love my girl and am amazed how devoted she is and how she became a good watch dog all by herself. She is good with our cats (sleeps with them), and with equines and, after a bit of shyness at the beginning, she is good with people. And never a growl or a bite.
Hey wants to know, I have a 3yo male born 9/11. Bet its the same litter.
Awesome dogs, hope he finds a home fast
could be! we got our boy from a gal in Legget. I tried to call her a few weeks later to thank her and the phone was disconnected. I’ve had dogs all my life but never a Shepherd. I saw the whole litter and she gave me my pick. I wanted the biggest male. He’s got lots of black on him .As I recall all the pups did.
Just keep this killer away from young kids. And If it gets loose on a local ranch it will be shoot without any hesitation. The shelter should be held accountable for turning killers out into the public. Beautiful dog-yes-but keep it locked up and away from Humboldt counties livestock!
German Shepherds are usually great with kids and people. My current 7 yr old Shepherd is very nice and smart; much more than a lot of people around here. Family raised them when I was a kid, and they were amazing with all my friends. Animals are a product of how they are raised and trained. I know some of the nicest dogs that are Pit Bulls and other breeds. Sometimes a fence blows down or a gate breaks and dogs get out. Most times they just want someone to help them get home. Sure glad not to have you as a neighbor any where near me! You’re way too paranoid.
good response…
WHAT? Why are you calling this dog a killer…do you know him? If a dog gets into livestock it is the responsibility of the owner to re-train him….we have two shepherds, one has a “high prey” instinct but she stops in her tracks when I give her the command…so don’t blame the dog…10 months old still has years of training ahead of him….
it goes without saying. responsible owners make sure their dogs don’t roam. Our place butts up on a 5000 acre ranch. We have an agreement with the owner. He won’t shoot our dogs and we won’t shoot his cattle when they cross the creek and end up outside our yard…which they cannot get into because it’s fenced to keep the dogs in.
interesting. I believe that you are a responsible dog owner but I seriously question this agreement. It actually works like this. If your dog is on a ranch and is chasing deer or livestock it is automatically shot. Dead ! Game over. If cattle cross a boarder onto a subdivided pot farm (formally a cattle ranch) and gets shot-it is cattle rustling and that farmer will be charged for the cow and charged for the crime.
mmm not if two people agree to act in a responsible manner…. I know it’s controversial to actually talk to people these days and hash out potential problems ahead of time, but it works. Sounds like a GREAT agreement…
