This ‘Good-Natured and Gentle’ Guy is Looking for a Forever Home

A concerned reader emailed us about this dog that’s listed on If you know someone who can help get him into a forever home, please pass this along to them.

I am a neutered male, white and black Pit Bull Terrier mix. The shelter thinks I am about 5 years old. I have been at the shelter since Mar 08, 2018.

Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:

Petey has a great face- white and pink, with a black-spotted nose and wonderful smile. On the leash he runs along at a very steady pace- could be a great jogging partner or biking pal. He has plenty of energy, is good-natured and gentle, and rather ho-hum about treats. Where this boy really shines is in the cuddle department! He just loves to curl up next to you and have his ears rubbed. His coat is very soft, and he adores being touched! He is not too interested in playing ball, but would make a perfect companion.

  • Kym what you do to help these animals is just so awesome of you .thank you for doing this for them.great karma for you ,and your family.

  • Judging soly by the headline I thought it was an article about me… Way to look out for the four legged gentle, good natured guys in this world too though.

  • Beautiful little pup. Unfortunately because it has pit bull in it – it will always be unpredictable and should be put down before it hurts another animal or a person. All pit bulls and pit mixes should be put down.

    • Your comment is erroneous. Besides being blatantly ignorant. I have two pit mixes. Very gentle, docile dogs. Maybe you bring out the worst in these creatures. Maybe it’s you!

    • You really need to learn a bit before saying things like that. Turn off the TV and go talk to people that own and care for these animals. By your logic, half the humans should be ‘put down’.

  • I need him now
