Vehicle 500 Feet Off Hwy 101 and Partially Into River North of Leggett

At approximately 3:22 p.m.a Subaru Outback went off Hwy 101 and 500 feet down an embankment and into the Eel River north of the Peg House and south of Confusion Hill between Leggett and Piercy, according to the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page. The vehicle landed on the driver’s side. The occupant was able to get out and received only minor injuries.

My estimate was 150-175′ along the line of travel, mostly airborne, about 125′ down max from the nearest point to the highway. Lucky lucky

Thank goodness for all the airbags in that Subaru. Amazed the driver walked away.
