Car Fire at the Car Wash

Nissan Frontier on fire in a car wash

At a little before 5 p.m., a Nissan Frontier caught fire at the Carriage Car Wash in the 1400 block of Broadway in Eureka. Flames were close enough to the building that the call was upgraded to a structure fire and a number of Humboldt Bay engines were sent to make sure the flames did not spread.

The reader who sent in the photo said that fire personnel got to the scene quickly and put out the flames. The cause, according to the reader, “Was a short in headlamp wire.”

HaHaHa Water would be great on an oil or gasoline fire.

Maybe next time he won’t replace that 10 amp headlight fuse with a 40 amp fuse. Still feel really bad for the person, that really would suck to have your car burn up.

Hi Kym, I find this one kind of hilarious at the same time an awareness to always check the car before going out and drive long. I wanted to ask, in cases like this does the car wash shop is responsible for the incident? Thanks a lot!
