I came through around 3pm, they were plowing the road and it was starting to have heavy snowfall again. It’ll be nasty tonight when the slush on the road freezes.

SNOW DAYS EXPLAINED for Covelo residents
There’s some confusion concerning what is, and what is not, a snow day. What follows is a helpful guide to assist you in navigating this complex issue. First, when you see the ground covered in what you think is snow, you are mistaken. This is virtual snow. This is why today, the 2nd of March, is a VSD (virtual snow day) and is labeled a “late start” or “early finish”. A VSD is also characterized by slides on 162 and icy conditions on north exposures along Covelo road. Snow days are easily identified by the absence of snow. Not a flake west of Anthony Peak can be present and the roads must be bone-dry. Additionally, beach weather must be balmy and warm where school employees can escape the horrors these conditions create. To assess when snow days will occur simply look for the days that preceed or follow a scheduled extended break. I hope this is helpful.
