Friends to Meet at Swimmers Delight to Search for Missing Man

QUINCY MendesTomorrow morning at 9:30-10:00, friends of missing man, Quincy Mendes, are gathering at Swimmers Delight off of Hwy 36. “We are setting out again to check the river and its banks for Quincy,” wrote Jeremy Kurtz. “If you’d like to help, please contact me or just come prepared.”

Mendes went missing January 21 after being in an accident on about mile marker 12 on Hwy 36. He is believed to have received injuries to his face and head.

According to the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department, Mendes is “a white male adult, 6 feet tall, 155 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.”

If you plan on searching, Kurtz suggested bringing:
Good boots.
Warm change of clothes.
Towel.
Food and drinks.

Kym, one of the things I really like is when you include links to your earlier reports. Wasn’t there one on this?

Was wondering if anybody had any luck finding Quincey. How far down river did people search?

I would have come out to look if I had known about it. There seems to be a need for some kind of community alert for all these missing people as law enforcement obviously can’t do it by themselves. What if it was me or my kid? I would want people looking. Timing is important too as notification should be same day not weeks later. I get amber alerts for kids taken in SoCal that I cant do anything about.

I hope they put missing signs in Dinsmore area. Someone could have very well picked him up like they always do and he could not know who he is.
