New Novel About Humboldt County Free Today (There Are Some Conditions)

kind nepentheA horror novel, Kind Nepenthe, written by a local author and set in Humboldt County is the Book-of-the-Day and free if you are a member of Kindle Unlimited on Amazon or if you sign up for a 30-day trial. Matthew Brockmeyer, the author, was also recently published in a short story anthology.

According to Amazon, the story follows a woman who moves to the “desolate back hills of Humboldt County” where she hopes to find a “place to commune with nature and teach her five-year-old daughter how to live off the land. Instead she discovered a nightmare.”

There are no desolate back hills on this planet. EFSI is alive….with life increasing in direct proportion to the absence of human habitation.
