[UPDATE 9:47 p.m.] VW on Fire Closes Hwy 101 Near Piercy; Traffic Backed Up to Richardson Grove

Vehicle fireA VW bug caught on fire around 5:48 p.m. on Hwy 101 near Piercy. The vehicle was fully engulfed in flames. According to Tiana Goldsmith, who works in Cooks Valley, “The traffic is backed up all the way to Richardson’s [G]rove.”

UPDATE 7:20 p.m.: Tiana Goldsmith tells us that the traffic is moving slowly through Cooks Valley. “It appears they’re doing one lane at a time,” she told us.

Sad when any old Bug dies. A simple car that you could fix in the driveway without any special tools.
