Pack the Den! Parents, Alumni, and Locals Urged to Come Watch South Fork’s First Wrestling Home Match Since 2010

Thursday will be the first home wrestling match for the South Fork High School Cubs since 2010, according to Coach Chad Kirk and he is hoping for a large crowd to come watch the wrestlers.

“I would love to fill the gym for these kids,” he said. “Win or lose I want it to be a night they will always remember.”

The matches will take place in the newly remodeled gymnasium at South Fork High School in Miranda at 6 p.m. But the doors will open at 5 p.m. and there will be a senior night/warm-up presentation at 5:30 p.m.

Becky Crossland wants to remind everyone “[W]e will have dinner at the snack shack – the regular menu plus a baked potato bar and a pasta dish!!”

This type of event is actually called a dual meet. It is a face off between two schools. Each school is allowed one wrestler per weight class. This evening will consist of three dual seperate dual meets. First up you will see South Fork VS Hoopa. Then Hoopa VS St. Bernards and the night will end with South Fork facing off against St. Bernards High. This should be a fun time for the wrestlers and fans alike.
