On January 17th, 2018, at approximately 11:00AM, Agents with the Humboldt County Drug Task Force, with the assistance of the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit, served a search warrant at a residence in the 3300 block of E Street in Eureka. Agents contacted 25 year old Matthew Williams and 29 year old Gary Noel outside of the home standing next to Williams’ vehicle, preparing to leave the residence. Once the Agents entered the residence they located 36 year old Jesse Brown. Jesse Brown was found to have a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest.

Gary Noel was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance and Jesse Brown was placed under arrest for his misdemeanor warrant. All three were transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where they were booked on the above listed charges.

Oooh. A realistic comment. Hasn’t it been made completely clear yet that they are right not to worry about bovrrnment action? On the other hand, inter criminal violence is taken very seriously.

With the judges in this county and people voting for propositions like 47 I wouldn’t be worried either. These guys KNOW they’ll never do time for this.

Prop 47 affected;

Shoplifting, where the value of property stolen does not exceed $950
Grand theft, where the value of the stolen property does not exceed $950
Receiving stolen property, where the value of the property does not exceed $950
Forgery, where the value of forged check, bond or bill does not exceed $950
Fraud, where the value of the fraudulent check, draft or order does not exceed $950
Writing a bad check, where the value of the check does not exceed $950
Personal use of most illegal drugs

Drug sales and weapons possession are not affected. Maybe Im missing something?

This is precisely what I’m talking about pennie Annie crap go for the big guns the guys with pounds of Controlled Substances not grams. But this could be a start to heading in the right direction now go after his supplier and then that guy supplier and go on down the list until you get the main vein supplier.

when there is a demand there will always be a supply. you have the wrong approach to this problem. you should ask yourself why we have so many locally raised addicts and go from there.

They aren’t all local by any means. There is a never ending supply of replacement addicts because Humboldt Co has a reputation of acceptance of drug use and a less expensive ratio of theft to enforcement.

its a direct relationship to the level of education. how many smart kids do you see mug shots of? a quick google search will tell you if they are local or not. most are. the longer you blame weed the longer this problem persists here. if we start the solution now this problem will be solved in no less than 20 years.

I would say that a lack economic opportunity, in a society that measure a man’s worth in dollars, is the reason we are doing so poorly as a county.

this is a nation wide problem in the same demographic areas. most of which are areas where resource extraction was the main economy.

too much so-called freedom is more likely reason, some people can’t handle freedom and too much time on their hands, need to be given a job to do and required

Actually its the big cities putting their “undesirables” on busses and sending them here. Dont you remember that craigslist ad from redding telling people eureka has lots of help available and to go there??? For real.
Plus our DA office has been basically defunct after the horrible hire and exodus of the majority of employees. Really do your research about maggie Fleming before this next election, this is one of the few things we can decide with our vote.

If anyone thinks that humboldt really has more addicts, please find a place anywhere in the country that is not having addiction issues and please post that. Maine has the worst opioid problems in the country.
Your fooling yourself if you think big pharm companies want it to end, that is until they unveil their new expensive pills to “help” addicts. Its all about the money and the more we point fingers at each other the more they sit back laughing watching the money roll in.

It was NOT the DA’s office that had issues with people leaving it was the Public Defender’s office because of the incompetent idiot the Board of STUPIDvisors tried to FORCE or should I say FARCE on us!!! Remember this next election vote ALL of the STUPIDvisors out!!!

It was NOT the DAs office! Maggie truly cares about putting these people away! Besides, guns with drugs is a huge no no in the eyes of the law!

“Humboldt Co has a reputation of acceptance of drug use ”

We do? Ive never seen any evidence of that. Unless you are referring to substance like coffee and cannabis.

yet the heroin problem is worse in the Ohio River Valley compared to here. good luck finding decent weed there. they still smoke brick weed. they at least accept that coal is not making a come back, despite what trump or their Governor says.

Because people can just sit around and take drugs all day and not actually have to earn their own living, because I have to pay for it.

Well said mr. Guest well said. If Sheriff honsell, and chief Watson would work together bust the main suppliers of large amounts of meth, crank, cocaine all of these problems that we have with the homeless ,and drug addicts, and needles everywhere. The list goes on will probably be cut in half if you got rid of the Menace of illegal drug abuse just saying again ,for the hundredth time.
