    • somebody said it was the one armed man. it seems a shame to joke about such a serious matter, but when they occur 2 or 3 times a week in such a lightly populated area, what would one expect, but you can only thank yourselves, and plenty of govt assistance.

In 2016 our Humboldt County homicide rate per capita was 14.73 confirmed homicides per 100,000 People. That ranks our county as the 20th highest homicide rate homicide rate in the United States. The 21st place winner is Essex County New Jersey, home of a friendly little city called Newark with a county homicide rate of 14.69 per 100,000. Folks will argue till the sun comes up with me about territory mass and square miles and urban territory vs. rural territory, but the fact of the matter is, out of the 3007 counties in the United States, our county has 20th Highest homicide rate, based on confirmed homicide statistics per capita sources from the F.B.I. database. Imagine what we rank when you consider how many people are murdered in these hills and their bodies are never found, and they are classified as “missing” ……. if you want things to change, you have to get involved. I’m filming a documentary about the social epidemics that plague the Emerald Triangle, and I’m looking for folks that would like to be involved in contributing towards finding some sort of consolidated effort to save our communities from imminent collapse. If you have information or stories about how violent crime or drug addiction has effected your life or the life of a loved one, please contact me and contribute to my documentary film I’m producing entitled “Lifting The Redwood Curtain”

I see Ron Louirero(sp?) was picked up for 187a murder. He fits the description of the stabber in Orick. If so, this guy has been in and out of jail/prison so many times. I blame the system for allowing scum bags like him to kill people. Quit slapping their hands and letting people ride for their crimes. He has been a sociopathic narcissist his entire life.
