Miranda 4-H Shares the Spirit of Christmas
This month Miranda 4-H carried with it the spirit of Christmas. On December 5th, the Southern Humboldt group held the regular monthly meeting. Most of the meeting was as usual aside from resounding buzz of holiday cheer. The room was intoxicated with the breath of Christmas. And what could make it more cheery aside from the need to make Christmas cards? The cards were passed around and as the 4-H kids busily worked on their projects and poured their hearts into them, a veteran by the name of Hank Toborg was introduced to the meeting and thanked everyone for their help in making the Christmas cards that will be sent to veterans at the Veterans Home of California in Yountville.
Later on December 8th, Kelsey McMahon chaired for the Lighted Parade committee and directed the construction of the float that would participate in the 12th Annual Lighted Parade that was put on by the Soroptimist International of the Redwoods.
Miranda 4-H’s float won Best Junior Entry. Thanks to Redway Feed for the donation of the Christmas tree.
On December 23rd, the Mateel Community Center was decorated by 4-H’ers for the Community Christmas Dinner.
Later, members of Miranda 4-H went caroling at the rest home in Garberville.
This truly was a spirited month for Miranda 4-H.
