Wondering About Those Sirens, Eureka?

Eureka Police Chief Steve Watson posted a few minutes ago that there is no need to be alarmed by the convoy of police vehicles using their sirens as they travel through Eureka. Here is the explanation Watson gave on his official Twitter account:

had that last wednesday here in clearlake .
i went shopping at walmart at 8:30 am and parking lot was full of police cars from every county law enforcement agency including fish & game wardens . about 25 cars and trucks .
then i went inside and my normal 45 minutes shopping lasted hour and a half cause store was a mad house

Yeah, toys for kids, but no law enforcement in town. ENFORCE THE LAWS so everyone can feel safe. Try citing for drinking and sleeping in public, for instance. Use those sirens for real policing, not spoiling kids who need discipline, not toys.

Lighten up there Stormy, those drinking and sleeping people in public aren’t going anywhere, they will still be there. They can be cited the next day.
