[Audio] Reporter discusses high-profile Manila murder coverage; Humboldt’s last week of news
In the latest episode of Humboldt Last Week (11:10): (Warning: Explicit content) A high-profile murder that occurred in the dark of night in Manila last winter includes five young adults accused of luring a 20-year-old man out there, carjacking him, and then shooting him to death. It was recently reported that one of the suspects flipped, pleading guilty to a lesser charge of manslaughter and agreeing to testify against her former co-defendants.
In the podcast, Lost Coast Outpost reporter Rhonda Parker discusses what’s believed to have happened that night, who the suspects are in relation to each other, unproven accusations of child molestation as a possible motive for the murder, and how the flipped suspect could impact the case moving forward.
On Jan. 9 the courts are set to discuss trial scheduling the remaining suspects.
The interview begins at 11:10.

The wheels of Justice around here all have flat tires.
There not even wheels anymore. There blocks
Charitable here? You are kidding.
To be clear, that was something a KHSU host told KQED’s California Report when they were here.

Maybe too much has turned into demands and extortion for the word charitable to have much meaning any more.
The commercials throughout the piece were disappointing.
Thank you for the feedback. Episode partners keep the podcast going and I’m very appreciative of them.
