[Audio] ‘The Office’ actor on shooting indie comedy in Humboldt; Humboldt’s last week of news
In the latest episode of Humboldt Last Week (10:25): It was recently announced that an indie comedy shot entirely in Humboldt County earlier this year will premier in Utah next month at the storied Sundance Film Festival.
Actor and former music teacher Craig Robinson plays the title character in “An Evening with Beverly Luff Linn” — many will recognize him from his work in “The Office,” “Pineapple Express,” “This Is The End,” “Hot Tub Time Machine,” “Mr. Robot,” and the new FOX series “Ghosted.”
“It was the most most challenging character I’ve played up to this point,” Robinson said. “…I’m attracted to these indie movies. It stressed me out. You know it’s comedy and it added some dramatic flair to me as I continue to grow.”
The film also stars Aubrey Plaza who many will recognize from “Parks and Recreation,” Emile Hirsch most known for the adaptation of “Into the Wild,” Jemaine Clement of the musical comedy act Flight of the Conchords, and many others — including some of the over 200 locals hired to work on the flick.
In the podcast Robinson discusses the new film, checking out some of Humboldt’s natural beauty, and how Humboldt was an instrumental part of him getting in better physical shape.
The interview begins at 10:25.

My friend got to meet him when he was shopping in Eureka Natty. Said he was very down to earth and posed for photos with the Eureka Natty crew!
Would love to see one of those shots if it’s easy for you to find!
Here ya go!
