Tickets on Sale for Faith Center’s Adaptation of ‘Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe’

This is a press release from Faith Center:

The scene is set in 1940’s London. As World War II rages on and bombs reign down on the city, four siblings are sent to live in the English countryside with their uncle. But when a game of hide and seek reveals a mysterious world hidden through an old wardrobe, the siblings find themselves once again in the middle of a war.

“The White Witch has ruled Narnia for 100 years, covering it with snow,” Narnia Director Lisa Ladanyi said. “When Lucy, Edmund, Peter and Susan arrive in Narnia, it marks the beginning of an epic battle between good and evil.”

Tickets are now on sale for Faith Center’s Christmas Dessert Theater featuring Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. The production is running from Dec. 8 through Dec. 11, 2017 at Faith Center Foursquare Church.

“We are excited to present this adaptation of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe for the second time here at Faith Center,” Lead Pastor Heidi Messner said. “It was a favorite of cast, crew and audiences as the fantastical adventures of Narnia, written by C. S. Lewis, transforms the stage into a fantasy of good and evil, betrayal and forgiveness, cowardice and courage, transformation and magic.”

The play brings the wonder of Narnia to life, featuring the same story line as the novel, The Chronicles of Narnia, but adding a few fun, new characters.

“We’ve been working on character building since day one,” Ladanyi said. “The actors have been working really hard developing their roles, bringing life into those characters. They are incredible.”

Narnia is not your typical theatrical performance. The production team kept the audience in mind while crafting every aspect of the event, creating a Narnia experience rather than just a performance. The audience will have the opportunity to literally walk through the wardrobe on their way inside the theater, stepping foot into Narnia before the play even begins.

“You don’t just walk into the theater, take a seat and everything is performed in front of you,” Ladanyi said. “We’ve produced this play with the intention that the audience will actually feel this presence of being there with the characters in this time and setting.”

Following the play, the audience will receive complementary desserts; something Ladanyi says is meant to enhance the feeling of community this Christmas season.

“It gives it that festive, fellowship feeling of being able to linger and enjoy something extra with your family,” Ladanyi said. “We’ll also have a photo booth afterwards where the audience can take photos with some of the characters from the performance.”

This is a family friendly production and is appropriate for all ages. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children. Tickets can be purchased online at eurekafaithcenter.org, in person at Eureka Faith Center, or at the door. Show times are Dec. 8 at 7 p.m., Dec. 9 at 2 p.m., Dec. 10 at 4 p.m. and Dec. 11 at 7 p.m.
