Garberville Veterans Association Invites Community to Christmas Day Meal at Mateel

The Garberville Veterans Association would like to invite community members to attend their free Christmas Day meal, hosted by the Mateel Community Center in the main hall on Monday, December 25th. Food will be served at noon after a brief prayer. Santa will pay a visit and give out gifts by 2pm. Volunteers are encouraged to come as early as 8am, we will need people to help cook, and for cleanup afterwards. Seniors who are in need of home delivered meals should coordinate with the Healy Senior Center. Nice gesture. Get the HTA buses from Eureka filled up with the homeless and take them to Garbieville for FREEBIES-oh the joy of FREEBIES!!! Then stop the buses. Leave’m with the rest of the County’s parasites.
The above 2 comments appear disdainful of this amazing act of goodness in our community. The tradition of the local veterans hosting this excellent event is truly only marred by the lack of action on the part of our elected board of supervisor’s inaction regarding the Vet’s hall in Garberville.
