Driver Fled Burning Vehicle Yesterday

A driver lost control of his Dodge Durango and crashed yesterday afternoon on Chemise Mountain Road, reports Cheryl Antony, spokesperson for Shelter Cove Fire. The driver then fled the scene.

According to Antony,

We got paged out for a vehicle fire yesterday at approximately three in the afternoon. It was discovered by a road worker. He came around a corner and this vehicle was completely on fire. [When we got there] it was starting to char the bushes and trees around it. [If it were summer,] it would have been terrible.

It is a straight stretch there. It looked like the driver had been driving pretty fast. He went into the other lane and the other bank and it made his car flip on his side. We never found him. The vehicle had been registered in several different places in the state. It is one of those cars …Whose is it…we don’t know?

The county workers that were working down towards Whale Gulch…saw a man running, but, at the time, they hadn’t known there was an accident.

It was a Durango we know that, but we don’t even know what color it was.

Shelter Cove Fire, most of them, stayed until around five. But the big truck and two of the firefighters didn’t get home until seven because they thought it was possible the vehicle might recatch on fire when it was righted so they stayed.

It all turned out okay and no one was hurt. That is the main thing.

Generally, vehicles don’t catch fire after rolling on their side, the Fire Marshal might want to check for an accelerant, perhaps the driver set it on fire to destroy evidence of some sort after getting it stuck on it’s side.

It might be worth looking into.

Trimagents “no speakie English”” let alone know how to drive any road near Shelter Cove. This makes 2 crashes on Chemise in 5 days? Is the road possessed???

Then the whole county is possessed. People drive like maniacs in and out of town. Pedal to the metal every day, all day no matter what the weather is or road conditions. Invincible.

Another absolutely incredible story from Shelter Cove, which apparently contains the most irresponsible and crazy folks anywhere. The account of what happened here is nowhere near to explaining how a fireball containing a man could have come to rest so completely out of control, and left a mess so completely inexplicable. Thank god this didn’t happen in September!

Never drive a burning car! No matter how fucked up you are!
