Supervisor Bass Elected First VP of Cal State Assoc of Counties
Press release from the County of Humboldt:
The California State Association of Counties® (CSAC), the statewide organization representing all 58 counties, elected Humboldt County Supervisor Virginia Bass to serve as First Vice President of the Association for the next year. She was officially installed Thursday night at CSAC’s Annual Meeting in Sacramento County. Supervisor Bass served as CSAC Second Vice President this year and previously served on the CSAC Board of Directors 2012-15.
“California’s 58 counties are on the cutting edge of so many important issues,” said Supervisor Bass. “From homelessness and cannabis regulation to protecting revenue and fixing our roads, CSAC is the unified voice for all 58 counties on these issues. I am honored to serve as a CSAC officer, and I am looking forward to working even more closely with the Legislature and the Governor’s office in Sacramento to help ensure counties have the resources and flexibility we need to deliver cost-effective services to our communities.”
“Supervisor Bass has the unique ability to see how issues impact individuals in her district, as well as county and statewide implications,” said CSAC Executive Director Matt Cate. “Her common-sense approach and ability to build consensus have been key aspects of her service in Humboldt County and as our Second Vice President last year. She will bring that valuable perspective with her as we deal with vital issues in Sacramento and the Nation’s Capital.”
Kern County Supervisor Leticia Perez was elected to serve as President of CSAC and Orange County Supervisor Lisa Bartlett will serve as Second Vice President. Alameda County Supervisor Keith Carson moves to Immediate Past President.

Congratulations Virginia.
Nepotism locally…and remember she was a lifelong proud Republican who changed her party affiliation to Democrat at the last minute to get the Supervisor job. Local media did far worse than drop the ball during that round of elections. Humboldt County’s Board of Supervisors is stacked with sellouts who got a free pass from our own media, regarding issues that should have been brought to the general publics attention. All we saw was ass kiss after ass kiss. Remember “jobs”?
Yes, I remember it well.
I recall she, along with others, (The rest of the Board of Stupidvisors), was responsible for hiring, our recently departed, in a hurry at that, Public Defender!!!
Great going Supervisor Bass
Good job Virginia! Great to see Humboldt county getting our feet in the door. Keep up the good work!
Way to go Virginia
Pathetic. They put illegals and criminal homeless and criminal growers before hardworking, taxpaying citizens. Her and her ilk should be run out of the county on a rail. Another traitor to the Constitution that should join Huff-n’puff and other reds on the next slow boat to North Korea. Give all the armchair socialists a front row seat to the eventual fireworks.
WHAT is with the black outfits, ladies… Pretty stark!
Not sure about the others but possibly Ms Bass is in mourning over the loss of the INCOMPETENT, Public Defender she & the rest of, the Board of STUPIDvisors attempted to foist on us!!!! She certainly should be!!!!
