Alderpoint Man, Bleeding From Multiple Wounds and Pinned by His Foot Under a Truck, Arrested
On November 23, at 10:49 p.m., the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of an altercation with a man pinned under a truck in the Steelhead Road area of the Alderpoint area in southeastern Humboldt. According to Lt. Mike Fridley of the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, a gate alarm woke a resident who then jumped into his pickup and arrived at the gate to find it had been forcibly knocked down and Joseph Flynn, a neighbor, at the scene with his 4-wheel drive utility vehicle.
According to the resident, Flynn attacked him through his open window. He allegedly began punching the resident and attempting to choke him. The resident said he struck Flynn multiple times in the head with his metal flashlight and tried to remove him from the vehicle.
Eventually, the two began tussling outside the pickup. The vehicle rolled onto Flynn’s foot pinning him to the ground. The resident said he took advantage of the opportunity to call 911 for assistance.
Medical personnel responded to the scene and the vehicle was removed from Flynn’s foot. The deputies described Flynn as bleeding from multiple wounds.
According to Lt. Fridley, in the course of the investigation, law enforcement discovered that Flynn had possession of methamphetamine. Fridley said that the deputies also learned that Flynn had struck a female partner in the face and had caused injury to her. He was arrested for domestic violence, vandalism, and possession of an illegal substance.
