[UPDATE: Adopted] Rudy is Looking for a Forever Home

A concerned reader emailed us about this dog that’s listed on Petharbor.com. If you know someone who can help get him into a forever home, please pass this along to them.

I am a neutered male, black and white Border Collie mix. The shelter thinks I am about 1 year. I have been at the shelter since Jun 23, 2017.

Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:

Rudy is a cute herding dog who is ready for action! Rudy is quite the ball dog and has the ability to learn new commands quickly. This intelligent dog likes most dogs that he meets, however he sometimes finds it hard to make new friends who understand his herding dog mannerisms. Rudy has a lot of energy to burn and would make a great hiking and/or running partner for someone. If you are wanting a highly intelligent/outgoing dog, please come by and meet Rudy today!

Look at petharbor.com and select humboldt county animal shelter.
There are all kinds of dogs!!
The humane society and mirandas rescue have more. The shelter seems to get the larger dogs. Contact redwood pals rescue, they can tell you about every dog at shelter, kenneled with rpr &/or in boarding. They are some of the most devoted folks ever!

I would guess the dogs being posted here are the longest residents of the shelter, and usually those have the most energy.

Highly recommend volunteering at the shelter. If youre going to meet a potential new pooch, give them a half hour walk or pen play so they have time to shake off the shelter and show their true colors.

Kym thank you soooo very much for posting these, its super helpful!!!
Lets all push for a serious upgrade to our shelter and a newer one closer to south county.
