Huh? What is the rest of the story? Is this a budget issue? Senior leadership? Political ?

Maybe he’s been doing it for 21 years and is ready to get the fuck out of dodge.

Ridiculous!
Bill was an amazing leader and firefighter.

The politicizing JPA board should be ashamed. And shame on you Kim Bergel and others. You are no friend to public safety. I will remember this at election time. You can be sure of it.

There is a lot of backstory to this I am sure. He is a nice guy and did a great job. Good luck with your future endeavors.

Bill was a fine and dedicated fireman/Chief. He and his crew were mutual aid with their ladder truck when the Star Hotel in Fortuna was on fire in 2015. Submitting a resignation is a hard choice for a professional. There’s more to this story than were allowed to know and perhaps time will allow us some of those secrets.
THANK YOU BILL FOR YOUR DEDICATION AND SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY!

Channel 3 News linked it with the Black Lives Matter pin issue. I hope not and I hope that more information is forthcoming. It could be simply be more of KIEM TV’s agenda ridden interpretation.

They didn’t link the BLM pin thing and his resignation, they just said it happened in the same week. Triggered much?

The pin incident didn’t happen the same week. The hearing on it occured the same week as the dispute over the shutting down of the water rescue program. Read much?

They didn’t link them unless you are looking for a link. It simply said that was one of the issues he had to deal with in this short time.

If this had to do with the Black Lives Matter pin issue then Bergel, Allison and Matt McFarland need to be fired tomorrow!!!!!!!!
