So awful a result for such a simple mistake. My sympathies to his family who obviously loved him so much.

Being drunk is not a simple mistake. It’s a conscious decision to do something idiotic, that often has severely negative results.

Very sad, they called it a drowning…was he found face down?
This looks very shallow, maybe a few inches of water.
Possibly he tripped and passed out?

Great sorrow for family I imagine they are devastated.
My sympathies, it could happen to anyone. No blame.
