[Update Friday] Person ‘Swept Out to Sea’ in Trinidad Area; Emergency Personnel Attempting Rescue
According to scanner traffic, someone was “swept out to sea” near College Cove before 2:30 p.m. today. Rescue personnel are in the area attempting to find the person.
Our reporter Bobby Kroeker, who is at the scene, says there is a Coast Guard helicopter hovering above the water and sends along the video below.
We don’t have a lot of information at this point, but we’ll update this post when we find out more.
Update 5:55 p.m.: The search has been terminated for the day. They were unable to locate the person. Kroeker sent the following video report:

Thats a ruff part of coastline, if you head out on the north trail theres no sandy beaches below.
