Kay Etta (Kindred) Cardoza: ‘She really enjoyed her flowers’

This section includes both obituaries and memories. Honoring our loved ones who have died does not end immediately after their passing. We recognize that… so we’re extending our obituary section to include individuals who may have left a long time ago. If you want to remember someone who is gone, either recently or longer ago, please send a photo and a few sentences to [email protected]. Tell us why you would like to honor the person–is it their birthday, the date of their passing or some other date of significance to you.

Kay Etta (Kindred) CardozaKay Etta (Kindred) Cardoza died peacefully and went home to be with the Lord Monday Oct 23, 2017 at the age 81.

Kay is survived by her two sons Tom Cardoza and Terry Cardoza (wife Brenda), grandchildren: Cameron Cardoza, Jenilyn Cardoza, Kalyn Tyler, Kendra Tyler, Tori Stone, Troy Cardoza, Krista Cardoza, Thomas Cardoza, Tony Cardoza, and John Sherman and great-grandchildren.

She is proceed in death by John P. Cardoza (husband) of 35 years, Kenneth B. Sr and Mabel L Kindred (parents), Gracie Gilbert, Carol Lantrip, Joyce Lockwood (sisters), Kenneth B. Kindred Jr. (brother), John Timothy “Tim” Cardoza (son), Cynthia Tyler (daughter), and Terrance “Bud” Cardoza (grandson).

Kay was a long time resident of Humboldt County. Born in Eureka on August 13, 1936 to Kenneth Bryd Sr. and Mabel Lottie Kindred. She married John Cardoza in 1951 and moved to Rio Dell, California and started a family. After moving their family to Ferndale, California in 1969, they started a family dairy business. In 1986 when John (husband) passed away she moved to Fortuna, California where she resided until she passed.

Kay loved anything cow or Mickey Mouse, but she really enjoyed her flowers. She would spend hours in her yard planting flowers or pulling weeds. She was always busy and would say “one day at a time.” In lieu of flowers, please make donation to Hospice of Humboldt or Alzheimer’s Disease Research.

I know it’s not smart to judge by appearances, but this lady looks really sweet and kind. Hard not to love that face! I am sorry for your loss.
