Although Hwy 36 has been closed from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1-5 p.m. weekdays, the contractor will change that for winter. According to Caltrans District 1’s Facebook page,

Work on the Federal Highway Administration’s project to realign Route 36 near Buck Mountain in Humboldt County has concluded for the winter.

Route 36 will no longer be closed during daytime hours. One-way traffic control is still in place at the project site, and motorists should anticipate 15-30 minute delays, but the full highway closures will not be in effect again until the 2018 construction season.
