[UPDATE 5:34 a.m.] Major Fires Breaking Out in Northern California: Structures and Vehicles Burning, Evacuations Ongoing, Victims Injured, Roads Closed

As wind pushes flames through dark neighborhoods, firefighters are battling massive fires across Lake, Sonoma and Napa Counties and elsewhere. A major fire incident has been declared for the state of California. To give you a sense, here are some of the voices we are hearing on the scanner.

“We have a total of five patients now with minor to moderate burns,” reported one emergency worker at 1:42 a.m. on the scanner.

“We just had a new start in Lake County –500 to 1000 acres….St. Helena,” reports another at 1:44 a.m.

“The city is working structure fires…Can You break any resources loose?” unknown firefighter asking for help at 1:56 a.m.

Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department wrote, “Mass evacuations are taking place…911 systems are inundated. Please call only if you have an immediate emergency.”

UPDATE 2:16 a.m.: Santa Rosa Fire tweeted about 1:45 a.m., “Due to a large wildfire, All residents north of Fountaingrove Parkway in the city limits are urged to evacuate.”

UPDATE 2:26 a.m.: We are now getting word of a fire breaking out in Redwood Valley. We’ll have a post up focusing on that soon.

UPDATE 3:11 a.m.: Major Fire in Mendocino Joins Others Whipping Across Northern California; 101 Closing

UPDATE 3:28 a.m.: A fire is forcing evacuations in Clearlake which is in Lake County. One lane of Hwy 20 is closed as of 2:53 a.m. According to the Clearlake Police Department, “Mandatory Evacuations for 2nd St to 17th St, and San Joaquin to Windflower Point, Burns Valley Area to Smith Lane in Clearlake due to Fire. Advisory Evacations Reed Lane to Smith Lane…Shelter is at Twin Pine Casino in Middletown.”

UPDATE 4:15 a.m.: The Sonoma County Sheriff says, “New mandatory evacuations for Santa Rosa area east of Fulton Road between Guerneville Road and River Road. If you are in this area, you need to leave immediately.

The nearest shelter is the Santa Rosa Vets Memorial Building at 1351 Maple Ave. Large animals can be taken to the Santa Rosa Fairgrounds at 1350 Bennett Valley Road.”

Who can evacuate 2 horses at 100 Trinity Sonoma? Need horse trailer

As a last resort, open your pasture and let the horses go. They will find safety.

I’m getting reverse 911 calls for Redwood Valley and Potter Valley. I know Redwood Valley Rancheria, golden rule ranch and Reeves canyon are being evacuated I can’t find a map I’m confused. Heard covelo fire too but really confusing information right now

My parents house a half mile up Tomki rd in Redwood Valley just burnt down. The said the whole valley is on fire!!
