That is what makes hate so scary. It justifies itself in violence in the end.

Bizarre that this guy was living in quiet retirement outside the city. He would rent hotel rooms all the time and gamble, like so many bored retirees. The police are questioning his girlfriend.

More bizarre is the fact he lived in a town called Mesquite in another state and then moved to Nevada and bought a new home in a town with the same name.

Something more going on here …

Not bizarre are the sick lefties who cheered the dude on. One was a teacher who deleted her twitter account after praising the guy for shooting “Trump supporters.” Other reactions like this on the Internet (see news stories). Sick, sick society.

Taking time to demonize more than half the population of the country because of something you read that someone else said on twitters. Yes, indulgent is is right word.

Cites or it didn’t happen.

That is not “praising” the gunman for shooting “Trump supporters,” nor is it on twitter.

do you think a 64 yo white dude with a hoard of guns is a lefty or a righty. try not to promote fake news, like anything said on twitter. twitter is an emotional discharge service that’s about it. I would say he was just a mentally disturbed elderly American who enjoyed his guns.

I think that always blaming others plays a part. The ‘she made me hit her’, ‘they should get what they deserve’, ‘they owed me’ , conspiracy mindset in which people let themselves feel aggrieved yet simultaneously helpless to fix it except with violence. A natural tendency that has become a frenzy.

Your description of blaming others is victim mentality.

Was it by a veteran? No blame on veterans, but blame on the way they are just thrown back into society and expected to adjust with ease with little to no help.
Most large domestic attacks (mcvay) & recent sniper attacks were by veterans. Timothy mcvay actually wrote many many pages on how he was feeling after being out of the military and his thoughts on our govt at the time. If you want to understand why, read his stuff if you can find it.

People have no idea what has been done in their name to people around the world and to our own soldiers who are often used as guinea pigs&see horrors beyond belief.
Not to mention the heavy metal poisonings and hormone altering pesticides everywhere in our world. A quik read of how heavy metals affect our behaviour makes it pretty clear, it explains a lot in our world, do a search and see for yourself.

In some native cultures, it was said it takes a year to train a warrior and a year to be with the medicine man before re-entering society.

We have an administration that promotes hate and changes rules so even proven mentally ill folks can buy guns now. An administration that has said through its actions that today if youre a white male who kills others who dont think like you, you will not be called or charged as a terrorist. If bad things like the ghost ship fire kills artists, the current pres says nothing. Until the current powers that be have the fbi focusing on domestic terrorists, these things will continue to happen. They spend our tax dollars investigating anti-war protest groups, activists trying to get pics of awful factory farms that grow our food and people from other countries while not watching our own citizens. Besides 9-11, all the mass killings in the last 30 years here were by us citizens.
Lets demand better, its beyond our personal politics, we are all in the same boat.

One mans freedom fighter is anothers terrotist. The story is told by the winner. In todays culture where it is perfectly acceptable to make a point by disrespecting others , it isnt hard to see that these things will can and do happen. You have a good point about veterans , however i think you are off base as to why. Veterans are people who beleived or beleive in something they were willing to kill and if nessecary die for it. Once a person has needed to do that, or seen what humans are capible of doing to each other, they are often more ready to act and react faster . It is like a switch, its all good till it isnt , and when it isnt good you dont sit around and whine about it , you act. It is why respect is so important imo, no matter what side or which ever fence you are on respect for the others side to view or ser things the way they do is important. It is a hard thing to do, yet once you can honestly respect others that dont beleive or think as you do, you will find answers.

they define a mass shooting as 4+ victims not including shooter. this site has some amazing maps. one of them shows Nevada as having the least gun violence. they have an interesting home invasion map.

Beyond terrible. Really hurts to hear the victims were enjoying a concert and completely defenseless. That is the mark of a true coward: one who preys on the defenseless, like a drug dealer, rapist, whoever. We as a society must condemn these depraved acts or we are truly doomed.

To all the people wondering how and why a person would do such a thing the answer is here all around you. Look at all the press and coverage this guy is getting. Why are most media obsessed with incidents like this? It is because people just love to gobble up this stuff. I would be very interested to see how many people would do things like this in a world where they knew they would get zero “recognition” for their actions. In a way we are giving them the power to do this by making such a spectacle of it all. Just for the record I don’t believe Kym is reporting this to drive traffic or make money I am talking more about big media and society in general.

Understanding is not a media goal at all. Arbitrating blame is. They are not the same thing even though way too many think they are.

I am sure they would cover the hurricane, but a hurricane doesn’t sit there and think that if it makes landfall and wipes out a bunch of people that it will make news coverage. I’m arguing that given the media coverage of these events that someone who has some agenda, or is just tired of being insignificant in this world and is ready to die that if they commit an act like this the amount of celebrity they will receive might be a factor.

Liberals forget to mention that theres about 50 people killed every weekend in chicago,..
Its the same as the war on drugs, making something illegal doesnt actually stop anything.
