One Scoop at a Time
With the October 15th deadline looming when dredging the Humboldt Bay must stop, mud continues to be scraped up and hauled off to be dumped about three miles offshore in the Pacific Ocean.
It’s been a decade since dredging was done in the area because of funding issues and disputes from environmental organizations that argued against dumping the scooped up mud on Samoa Beach where previous dredgings had been deposited. The built-up mud left boats stranded at low tide.
Woodley Island Marina is scheduled for dredging next year.
The video above was taken by Laurie Jensen yesterday morning near Marina Way at the New Boat Basin.

Looks like job security to me
Looks like MORONS in charge.
Honestly, was at San Fran just three weeks ago watching the same procedure with a slightly larger machine..I think it may just be a slow careful process with boats and docks to be considered.
