Mattole Road to Stay Open Monday and Wednesday

Although the original plan was for the California State Parks to have a contractor paving the Mattole Road between Highway 101 and Grasshopper Road Monday through Friday from September 11th through the first week of October, plans changed and the contractor got pulled onto another project this week, according to Brian Merrill, Senior Engineering Geologist with the North Coast Redwoods District of California State Parks.

The road will now be open until Thursday when the project will resume and the road will be closed from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday. There will be regular traffic control with 30-minute delays possible on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.  There will be no work on Sunday.
