This is a press release from Senator Mike McGuire:

Mike McGuire

Sacramento, CA – In response to the devastating Helena Fire that hit the community of Junction City, Senator Mike McGuire, The Humboldt Area Foundation, the County of Trinity, the Trinity Journal and Humboldt County Supervisor Rex Bohn came together to establish the Trinity County Fire Relief Fund – and after just one week, more than $17,500 has been raised to support the survivors.

“The Helena Fire has taken a tremendous toll on the hard working people of Junction City, but this tragic event is also mobilizing neighbors to help Trinity County in one of their greatest times of need,” Senator Mike McGuire said. “We are grateful to the dozens of folks who have donated thus far, but we have more work to do to hit our $25,000 goal and we would be grateful if folks can mobilize and help their neighbors in need.”

The Fund, which has been established at the Humboldt Area Foundation, will benefit the children and families who have lost their home to this massive blaze or whose home was damaged by the Helena Fire. One hundred percent of donations will benefit the survivors of the Fire and donations are tax deductible and the first priority will be to replace school supplies, clothes, and other essential items for children in Junction City Schools. The Fund will also assist the dozens of residents who have lost their home to the Helena Fire.

Tax deductible contributions can be made at www.hafoundation.org/trinityfirerelief.
