One Arrested for Suspicion of DUI for Traffic Accident Near Covelo

From Fortuna PoliceOn Sunday at 6 p.m., two vehicles crashed into each other at Crawford Road and Biggar Lane near Covelo.

According to Officer William Wunderlich of the California Highway Patrol, A driver of a 2000 black Lexis sedan–Phillip Tommasina, age 39, from Shoreline, Washington–was traveling west on Biggar Lane approaching the intersection. At the same time, the other vehicle, a 2005 Dodge Ram pickup driven by Pedro Riveraconcha, age 39, of Selma, California was driving south on Crawford Road approaching Biggar Lane.

“For reasons still under investigation, the two vehicles collided within the intersection,” explained Wunderlich. There was major damage to the Lexis and roll over damage to the Dodge Ram. “One passenger in the Lexis, Zegna Gonzalez, was transported by Cal Star to an out of the area hospital as a precaution.”

“Both drivers had minor but visible injuries,” Wunderlich said.

Tommasina was arrested for suspicion of DUI.

Lexis had the stop sign. Hard to see oncoming traffic due to undergrowth

People drive srupid here a lot of the time..very sad to say. No respect for our kids or elders 😢. Love our valley always! By the way did anyone ever remove the car from the yard they crashed into??

The CHP still hasn’t had the car Removed. Waiting for another Accident to Happen.
