“hot rod mechanic/original gangster/rocket scientist/family man/greaser/bad influence/heart breaker” but in reality just another local tweaker that had a stint at College of the Redwoods.

So HCSO what exactly is it that makes a vehicle be a suspicious one?

Good officers are familiar with all the local bad guys, but also a sense of JDLR – just doesn’t look right.

No brake light(s) or faulty light(s)
No rear view mirror
No side view mirror
No seat belt(s)
Non-operating turn signal
Tire(s) under inflated (safety issue)
No working light above rear license plate
License plate obscured
2017 vehicle tags (may not be registered)
Inadequate tread on tire(s) (safety again)
Vehicle appeared to have steering problem (over or understeer)
No rear bumper or existing bumper not properly attached
No front bumper ” ”
Any vehicle part appearing to not be properly attached to body
No acceptable gas cap (socks not allowed, sorry)
Front and/or rear windows obscured (direct, etc) so as to render
vehicle unsafe to drive
THE WRONG BUMPER STICKER
Anything in or on side windows which obscure driver’s view around
him (maybe her)
Windshield wipers in unsafe condition (note previous)
Usual accessory of awake and aware driver in full command of the
vehicle
This last ‘accessory’ is not considered ‘standard’ and does not come
with the vehicle from the factory but is considered ‘after-market’ and
the responsibility of the owner of the vehicle

While some of the list would be i the CA State Vehicle Code somewhere,
the rest are things which, (epending on the location, the time of day or
night, the appearance of the driver or the people in the vehicle) may make
a LEO believe there is probably cause for a looky-see. Also known as ‘using
one’s smarts’ or ‘my professional training and experience and my gut insticts
haven’t failed me before’. This is not offered as evidence in a courtroom but
it is probably considered an unspoken rule.

So he was coming to rob me?

Is it so insane to think that even though it’s against the law, felons might still just carry a weapon for self defense?

Or as soon as someone becomes a felon they immediately only use firearms for evil and malicious acts?

I don’t think being a felon and being a decent human being are mutually exclusive.

So that revolver is a .22 Magnum. This is much much more powerful than a typical .22 LR or .22 Short.

Nope it is a 22mag, you are looking at the flat nose of the bullet, not the primer end of the case, (even though the 22mag is a rimfire).

Regardless, one 22short into your melon and you are in big trouble. When I was a kid, one of my stupid friends kept fast drawing his Colt frontier scout like Billy the Kid was going to take him on. We warned him and sure enough, he shot himself in the leg. A 22short went into the top of his right calf, went completely through about a foot of meat and exited near his ankle. That shows the power of even these little guys. He was laid up for four months . These pukes just keep on making life miserable for a whole city because they can. It doesn’t matter what this asshat’s story is, he is a turd in the punch bowl of life for a lot of people. Good work police.

More gun laws are needed for law abiding citizens? These criminals do not care about the law, Why intrude on our rights any further? I cant buy a generation 5 Glock in California. Cali wearing thin….

We need to allow concealed carry like 38 states do as we speak. Vote the liberal Democrats out. They just passed a law to provide these dopes with free mental health care. Thus providing another expensive excuse for the behavior. Our dim bulbs like this guy are an example that you can’t fix stupidity by telling them they are not stupid and paying them money to keep on being stupid . Advocates for fools are fooling all of us.
