[UPDATE 7:56 p.m.] Law Enforcement Seeking Assailant With Firearm in Trinidad

Breaking NewsAbout 6 p.m., the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a 70-year-old man had been assaulted by a man with a firearm in the 300 block of View Avenue in Trinidad.

The victim was said to be sheltering in a garage but as of 6:35 p.m., the victim is with law enforcement. Law enforcement is looking for the armed assailant in the nearby trailer park.

UPDATE 6:50 p.m.:

According to the scanner, the suspect sounds like he is planning on complying and exiting his trailer, according to an officer at the scene.

UPDATE 6:56 p.m.: The suspect has been detained.
