[UPDATE 5:21 p.m.] Home on Fire Near Leggett

Burning structureLeggett Fire and other agencies are responding to the report of a home on fire in the 63,000 block of Hwy 1 just across the river from Leggett.

Air support is headed out to the fire from the Rohnerville Airport at 4 p.m.

UPDATE 4:05 p.m.: The home is engulfed in flame, according to the scanner.

UPDATE 4:06 p.m.: One of the crew of one of the aircraft reports over the radio that he has heard multiple structures are burning. In addition, he has spotted another fire in the Bull Creek area. We’ll follow that on this post.

“Fire under control” means the fire didn’t spread to the forest of neighboring homes. So thankful for that. So sorry to hear someone lost their home.

I am so sorry for your loss. It is great, it is overwhelming. What can we do for you and your family? How old is your son? Maybe some clothes and toys can be collected to start him off, knowing people care.

My condolences to the family who lost their home and personal possessions. I trust donation jars will soon be set up in most stores and banks to help them restart. Such a tragic and terrifying ordeal to have gone through. Is there a GoFundMe page set up yet? How can we help?
