That is where my great great grandparents graves are. I don’t think they will mind. But we don’t need to loose their grave sites
Addie Johnson?
Agreed. We also don’t need to lose the campground, the redwoods, Cuneo Creek Horse Camp, the Mattole, King Range and Southern Humboldt plus points, east, north, and south. Or any still-living people.
Agreed
“The forward spread has stopped”
Oh how I wish I could accomplish that😜
But seriously prayers and great thanks to all the heroes out there fighting to save life and property
Just one more huge Thank You to our wonderful Cal Fire firefighters and all the volunteer depts. Without you we would be living in a black barren nothingness.
Any updates since 5:15 Kym?
When the forward spread is stopped, that basically means they’ve got a handle on these small fires and all that is left is the mopup. I think I’d have heard if there was anything serious that went wrong.
How do you reckon a fire would start in the middle of the woods like that?
Transients thinking they have found a home ? or a gasoline engine without a bad muffler. or # 1 reason, ( lit cigarette )
“Two leg’ed lightning”
most holy of redwood stands. The road thru to Albee creek and Bull creek and Honeydew is full of deep dangerous potholes and lots of blind curves, a bad combination. This makes you worry for the emergency vehicles getting there. Thanks again Cal fire.
We were camping at Albee and watched the fire fight. A Cal Fire chopper landed a hot shot team in the campground meadow and then proceeded to make water dumps with its bucket. Also a plane made several water dump runs at treetop level. Trucks arrived and they fought it from Mattole Rd. They stayed there all night to watch for flare ups. Campground was a bit smokey. Thanks Cal Fire.
