Fire West of Rio Dell
A fire broke out about 9:30 a.m. on the ridge just west of the radar station behind Rio Dell, according to a witness. Cal Fire air crews are en route.
UPDATE 10:05 a.m.: According to Cal Fire, the fire spread into the surrounding vegetation after a vehicle accident. Ferndale Fire quickly accessed the scene and contained the fire.
In addition to Ferndale Fire, Fortuna Ambulance, Cal Fire aircraft, and a Cal Fire engine responded to the scene.
