[UPDATE 4:08 p.m.] Vegetation Fire Reported Near Dinsmore
At approximately 2:55 p.m., Cal Fire dispatch received a report of a vegetation fire burning off of Bear Creek Road north of Hwy 36 near Dinsmore. A black column of smoke was rising east of the Dinsmore Airport.
Three Cal Fire engines, Bridgeville Fire, Carlotta Fire, multiple air tankers, and helicopters are responding to the incident. Six Rivers National Forest is also responding.
UPDATE 3:15 p.m.: The Incident Commander reports that the fire is 1/4 to 1/2 acre at this point. He said on the scanner that the fire appears to have started in a structure. It is spreading slowly and expected to be stopped before it reaches five acres as it is surrounded by roads.
The resources responding have been dropped to two Cal Fire engines, Bridgeville Fire, Carlotta Fire, Southern Trinity Fire, a tanker, a copter, and a dozer.
UPDATE 3:34 p.m.: “The fire is about two acres,” reports the incident commander. “We should be able to hold it within our retardant lines with no significant wind change.”
UPDATE 4:08 p.m.: The fire is now about three acres. Some resources are being canceled.

So that’s why I saw Cal Fire Battalion Cheif 1216 go by me, Code 3, earlier as I was walking up the road to check my mail, Carlotta VFD’s Water Tender went by a few min later only Code 2!!!

Fire is out I live by these worthless people. Abuse the land and start a fire with their giant diesel generator, then all run away….did not stay and fight….did not even call it in. Other neighbors helped…at least nobody was hurt
