Woman Arrested for Arson of the Former Blue Heron Motel

This is a press release from the Eureka Police Department. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

Yocum, KattieOn August 21, 2017, at about 2:37 p.m., officers with the Eureka Police Department responded to the 2200 block of Broadway to assist Humboldt Bay Fire with the investigation of a fire at a vacated motel office. Witnesses described two females seen running away from the fire.

While investigating the scene, officers identified 30 year old Eureka resident, Kattie Yocum, as one of the females who had been seen running from the fire. Based on the investigation, it appears Yocum set the fire following a disagreement with the property owner.

Yocum was arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for arson. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the Eureka Police Department at (707) 441-4044.

[edit] My uncle Fred 1st owed them when it was the Branding Iron,only their was a restaurant with a pool and slide. I think he would turn over in his grave if he saw it now😭such a shame a slum lord like Squires got them.

I bet squires burnt it down for ins money and promised some money to some other dirbags to say they saw her running from there since they sqabbled. Question now is which of the three is relying on the other two to be less credible … Lol.

I idk who the owner of those tweekside bayverly sulm is but i bet it would make for a nice walkby wax motercycle paid admission museum each room showcasing the rise of the motercycle some being real is not a problem but some has to be wax for insurance cost of repacing the real oh whats done is done to hell with peace

She did the town a great improvement on the landscaping to that area. 😉 We have a lot of slumlords and since taxes are already high it makes owners not be able to do upkeep,
I’m not talking about the Squires though. They are in their own category (how do they sleep? knowing they are creating a slop pile of their investment. If you get in over your head, get out of some of them, and spend the money on the buildings that are worth saving. I’m so glad I never did drugs and drink. Watching friends die etc. was also a way to be shaken “cold sober”

So, just to be clear, the courts rule against Squires et al concerning their overall poor property management and general shiestiness.

A couple of weeks later, another Squires slum is set on fire by some random person, and the city gets to foot the bill for the demolition and disposal of an already condemned property…

Yep, seems legit.
