According to the scanner, at approximately 1:45 a.m., the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a “26-year-old male with stab wounds”* in the 65000 block of Wildwood Drive south of Leggett. Leggett Volunteer Fire responded to the scene as well and requested medical transport.

The suspect was still on the scene of the incident when law enforcement was contacted, according to the scanner. Readers have told us that the suspect was arrested but we have not been able to confirm that though we have made several calls to the Mendocino Sheriff’s Office.

The helicopter landed at Weaver Airstrip near Laytonville to pick up the victim and took him to an out-of-the-area hospital.

*Note: The Mendocino Sheriff’s Office reports that the victim was 27 and the suspect was 26.
