[UPDATE 11 a.m.] Vehicle Upside Down by Creek off Hwy 299; Person Possibly Trapped

Traffic Collision Car AccidentA silver vehicle crashed over the side of Hwy 299 near mile marker 35 this morning about 8:45 a.m. The vehicle landed upside down on the southbound side of the road. A person may be trapped.

The dispatcher requested that Cal Fire, Salyer Fire, Willow Creek Fire, and Hoopa Ambulance respond to the scene.

UPDATE 9:03 a.m.: The ambulance is on scene with the patient who is not trapped. The road is clear, according to scanner traffic.

UPDATE 11 a.m.: The patient received minor injuries.

Actually, numerous wrecks occur everyday in the County. Only a fraction make the news.

Hope their ok.Another wreck,wow this is getting ridiculous.Cell phone,or just mindless driving?not saying that happen here to be clear. I see people everyday talking on there phones,or texting. I even saw a police officer talking on his phone.guess that’s ok.idk.be safe

Actually, the cop on the phone is no better than you or I are!!! He should be setting an example modeling how NOT to use a phone while driving!!! As they keep telling us… PULL OVER TO USE THE PHONE!!!!! You should have written down the time of day & the vehicle license number & turned his ( I assume it was a male Deputy) in for a vehicle code violation!!! They certainly don’t hesitate when we, the general public get caught!!!

POLICE, FIRE, AND AMBULANCES AND OUR TAXI’S ARE EXEMPT FROM THE CELL PHONE LAW’S THEY NEED THEM TO DO THEIR JOBS. GLAD THIS PERSON IS OK!!
